To Emigrate or Not?

To Emigrate or Not?

To emigrate is the opposite of to immigrate. Many people want to emigrate from their country for a variety of reasons. The most prevalent reason has been for some time, and is now, for economic purposes. They want to make more money and they find it will be facilitated by moving to another country.

In their original country people may find opportunity closed off to them because of their social standing. It may be that the country of their birth is declining and offers little in the way of opportunities. This would be kind of like what Wall Street has put the United States through, where it will be quite some time before the employment picture normalizes, if it ever does.

This brings the problem to the fore, of too many people allowed to emigrate from their country to the United States. This will cause friction between the native-born and the newcomers who are competing with each other for a limited number of jobs. There are those in the United States who not only want an end to people coming to America illegally but to those that emigrate from their country and enter the United States legally. The country has reached the state where there is no further need for extra labor.
