Travel cheap: Vietnam
If you’re feeling stressed about the economic ups and downs, you can feel safe in the knowledge that there are still some places out there that are cheap to travel to. Vietnam is one of these places. Of course it’s still on the other side of the planet, so you’ll need to find cheap travel deals to get there. But once you do, you’ll realize that it’s incredibly cheap to spend time there. If you keep away from fancy restaurants and stay in a moderately priced hotel, like a bed and breakfast, you can spend as little as 8 dollars a day.
There’s some stuff that you should keep in mind, in case you want to keep your daily bill low. First of all, stay out of trouble and follow your instincts. If you don’t go looking for trouble, you’ll hardly find it. Also, be careful with scammers. There is a general consensus that it’s ok to scam westerners, so many people may try to cheat you with excessive prices, bad currency conversion or giving you wrong change. Pick pocketing and purse snatching is also common in the big cities, so keep your valuables safe. If you stay safe, you’ll thoroughly enjoy yourself – it’s a beautiful country.
